Planned power cut
To carry out essential maintenance we sometimes need to turn your power off.
How do I prepare for a planned power cut?
When is someone going to fill in the hole that has been left by your employees?
Compensation
Power cuts are rare but unfortunately they can still happen. As soon as possible after being made aware of a power cut we arrange for our engineers to attend to start repairs, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. For certain scenarios we offer payments for customers affected by a power cut.
Once we have restored your power, we'll proactively contact all customers who are eligible for a payment so there is no need for you to contact us about this.
However, if you have a safety issue to report, need to tell us about a vulnerable customer or would like updates on an ongoing power cut, please call us on 105. This line is open 24 hours a day.
What is my Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN)?
A Meter Point Administration Number, also known as an MPAN, electricity supply number or supply number is a 13-digit reference. A MPAN is used to uniquely identify every electricity supply point in the country. If you live in London, the South East and East of England we can help by telling you our MPAN.
How do I report a dangerous situation?
If you think your situation is dangerous, please stay away from the equipment and call us 24 hours a day on 0800 31 63 105 or 105 (free to call from a landline or mobile).
Substation issue
Have you noticed an issue such as, overgrown trees and plantation, graffiti or a damaged fence at one of our electrical substations? Let us know so we can fix it.
Find out why we are digging in your area
A large amount of our electrical network is underground, particularly in large towns and cities. To work on our electrical equipment, sometimes we will need to carry out roadworks. You can find out who is carrying out roadworks in your area and for how long by visiting the Causeway one.network website and entering the nearest postcode, road name or use your mobile device's location.
When is someone going to fill in the hole that has been left by your employees?
We always aim to back fill a hole as soon as possible after we complete our work. If the work is being carried out on public land, this will have to be complete before the permit expires. You can also find out who is working in your area and for how long.
Roadworks: delayed or over running works
Occasionally our roadworks may over run for various reasons. Information on all of our roadworks on public land can be found by visiting the one.network website and entering the nearest postcode, road name or use your mobile device's location.
Need to report street furniture without power?
If you notice any street furniture such as traffic lights, street lights or lit sign posts without power, here's what you need to do:
- Use our fault map to check if we're already aware.
- If we're unaware of a fault then this will need to be reported to your local authority or the asset owner as they will need to check their equipment first. They will then report this to us directly if there is a fault on any of our equipment.
- If you are reporting a dangerous situation such as damage to street furniture, then please call us on 0800 31 63 105.
