Cost and time
Move - Domestic & small business
We know that you would like to have a clearer understanding of the cost and timings of moving your electricity supply. There are a few factors which can impact both time and cost. To make sure you have all the information you need to benchmark your project, we've gathered the average costs and times from customers who have had their electricity supply moved by us.
Answer a quick set of questions and we'll provide an indication of how much this work may cost.
Unfortunately, regardless of whether you're relocating your electricity supply inside or outside your property, or even just a short distance, the process remains equally time-consuming and challenging. Even if you moved your electricity supply 10cm inside your property, it would cost a minimum of £800-£1200 (+VAT). This is because we need to move the electricity cable which goes under or over your house to connect to the wider network. It's not possible to pull or move this cable without digging and then moving the cable.
Qualified electricians are qualified to move the fuse box (the box that holds the trip switches) and to work on your internal wiring. Electricians are not trained to work on the electricity supply or the electricity meter. Moving the electricity cable coming in from the road has to be done by our qualified engineers.
