Permanently disconnect - What's involved
Disconnect
We understand that permanently disconnecting your electricity supply involves several steps, some of which most customers are not aware of. Don't worry, we're here to simplify the process for you.
Our teams follow a typical step-by-step approach when permanently disconnecting an electricity supply which we're happy to explain.

Disconnecting and removing your electricity meter
Only your electricity supplier (the company you pay your electric bills to) is able to remove your electricity meter as they legally own the meter. Find out your electricity supplier and your MPAN.
Emergency disconnections
If you need an emergency disconnection, for example due to a fire, tampering or as a result of illegal activities, please stay well away from any damaged cables or equipment and call us 24 hours a day on 0800 31 63 105 or 105.
This process will result in a permanent disconnection of electricity, there will be no power at all.
