Disconnect and add temporary electricity supply

Disconnect

If you're working on a project and the electricity supply has been disconnected or if you need it to be disconnected but still require power on site, you'll need to apply for a new temporary supply. This will ensure you have the electricity you need to work on your project.

Customers typically need this when:
Floodlight on a building site

You need to disconnect an electricity supply to a site, but still need power for tools and lighting

100amp fuse

You need to disconnect an electricity supply to move it to a new position on the same site

Emergency disconnections

If you need an emergency disconnection, for example due to a fire, tampering or as a result of illegal activities, please stay well away from any damaged cables or equipment and call us 24 hours a day on 0800 31 63 105 or 105

What size temporary connection do you need?

Small temporary connection (up to 69kVA)

Typically our customers need this when they are:

  • Building a new property and need electricity on site during the build to run basic building tools and lighting
  • Building a temporary home or need to power cabins on site
  • Demolishing a building and need temporary power whilst building another property in its place
Large temporary connection (more than 70kVA)

Typically our commercial customers need this size of temporary electricity supply when they are:

  • Running machinery
  • Building or renovating a new development and need electricity to power site offices, lighting or run heavy machinery

Did you know you can use an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) for various elements of the work involved in getting an electricity connection or making changes to an existing electricity connection?
