Cost, time and what's involved
Move our electricity equipment
If you're working on a project which involves contacting us to move our electricity equipment including substations, power cables or other large electrical equipment, it's important that you identify what you need us to move as early as possible. In our experience, due to the scale of the project which includes planning, booking and completing the work, it can take a significant amount of time.
If you're not sure where to begin or if you'd like to explore your options, we offer pre-application support tools. These include our Open Data Portal, Technical Design Specifications library (G81), and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
If you already have a clear idea of what you need, simply submit an online application and we'll work with you to provide the most suitable and cost-effective solution.
Cost and time
The cost and timing of each project can vary depending on several factors. Since each project is unique, we're unable to provide an exact price or time frames online. The cost and time is determined on the specific work required. Therefore, the price will be provided once we receive and review your application and, in some instances, we may need to visit you first to provide you with an accurate quotation.

We'll complete the work

Request cable plans
For your safety, we strongly recommend that anyone carrying out digging requests electricity cable plans. This shows you where underground electricity cables are and can prevent unintentional damage to the cables and ensure everyone's safety. This advice is based on the guidelines outlined in HS(G)47, which focuses on avoiding risks associated with underground services.
