Compensation: a power cut affected my business 

If your business had a power cut lasting longer than 12 hours, we’re sorry for the inconvenience and you are entitled to a £180 payment. You are also entitled to another £40 for each additional 12 hours you were without power. Please read the Electricity Guaranteed Standards for more information. These are standards set out by our industry regulator Ofgem.
We understand this amount may not cover your business for loss of earnings if you’ve had to close because of the power cut. Power cuts occur for many different reasons and usually without warning, so we’re not liable for any loss or damage. Your business insurance may cover you so please check with them. Most insurance companies will contact us directly if they require further information about the power cut. For more information please read the Terms of Connection, these are set by our industry regulator Ofgem.
